Here in Germany existed another way: I had Miami 1996, after I was able
to enter the net, registered by Holger directly by sending him the
money. I cannot remember how the registration worked.
But when I wanted to upgrade to MiamiDX in 1997 I bought
20-character-code from the German distributor ADX and the registration
happened online, in a few seconds I hade a file, which easyly was
transformed to the keyfiles. I still have the invoice with that code.
And as someone mentioned here, I keep all my keyfiles on an extra disk,
even if I have a directory with the whole collection and make a full
backup of my HD on 6 ZIP-disks every month.
