What if you remove your rego keys, and see if it runs in demo mode? (In
case they've been damaged, or false recognised as pirate ones - there is
some anti-piracy features, but I don't recall reading what they do.)

Hmm, now things such as odd hardware faults also seem likely. But have
you installed old MUI files, or the most recent updates you can find? And
which OS are you using?
I doubt that you could have downloaded corrupted files, when you've tried
it several times. So everything points at it being a software or hardware
problem on your computer.
Occasionally the edge connector on my accelerator board goes wonky, and I
have to unplug it, scrub it, and re-connect. They type of errors that
happen, when this problem occurs, are extremely weird. They're not the
sort of thing you'd naturally attribute to a hardware fault.
