Uh-huh. That's basically how I'd often do it when I was using a dialup
account, too. But now I'm running SANA-II ethernet wtih a cable modem.

Well, as I said, oddly enough, launching YAM immediately before launching
Miami seemed to keep the guru at bay for awhile, although now that's not
working reliably, either... I had to futz with Miami several times (and
reboot after several lockups) before getting online succesfully this
time...

I am connected to the net via a Netgear router, so the DNS server (i.e., the
router's address) never does change. I tried making that static, i.e.,
permanent, but it would seem to help, then didn't help the next time... so
I don't think that's the glitch.

I recently had occasion to reinstall OS 3.9, so that should be in order. And
I'm not using the serial device at all. As for MUI, I'm not sure if that
could be the culprit, since I'm deliberately using the ClassAct/Reaction
GUI of Miami.
