        It is usually a good idea to include as much information as possible
        (better to have too much than not enough information ;)).

        Are you trying to create a VCD from a 768x576 capture?  If so, then
        as Matt points out that is the problem

        hint:  try adding "-i ilace=TOP_ONLY" to y4mscaler's options.

        DVDs _can_ use MPEG-1 video.  The resolution/quality will be (a lot)
        less than using MPEG-2 with larger frames - but the playing time will
        be huge ;)
