But..hardly anyone will use the complicated compilers/interpreters and
IDEs. That is, most normal people don't do any software development. And
I'd argue that somebody going into software development should be more
than capable of installing any compilers/interpreters/etc..especially
since they are an apt-get away.

I do agree about the Freshers week, though. Or at least, during the
early parts of the semester, not so late as this one was. When everybody
is bushy tailed and eager..
