Hi Lawrence

A very simple check is to get the car to do it and put jump leads to
another battery and see if the idle returns, it could be the IACV (Idle Air
Control Valve), simple to fix and if he changes it make sure the casting is
stamped 'Made in Mexico' as they are the later ones, you will read about
needing a Rovacom to set them which is untrue, 5 cycles of start and stops
sets the throttle off position and the IACV will motor down to the correct
value.  Also don't buy via a Morgan dealer, I was quoted £135 and the item
was £60 at a Land Rover dealership.
