After an exchange of emails this morning it sounds as though the battery in
the Mog in question is of the same vintage as the car, circa 2001.

I'll take a look to find her nearest Land Rover dealers/specialists.

Hi Lawrence

Any decent Range Rover mechanic would probably have seen the problem/know of
it.  The only watch point is making sure the ignition is never turned on
with the IACV removed (to clean it) and plugged in, it jumps beyond max
travel and you have a pile of parts on the floor (don't ask ;-)).  Many say
clean them, to be honest the later type are just so much better and its a
fit and forget job.  My money would be on a low battery charge first though!
