Sue, Where are you? I am in Arkansas, and I just recently received a $3,000 grant from the Rockefeller Foundation and the Humanities Council. I learned about the availability of the grant through a representative from the Secretary of State. You might could check there to see if there are some funds from your state that you may not have heard about. Over the past couple of years, I have also received several grants through our school's PTSA and our district's Education Foundation. Does your school have any funds through these organization? I am a grant writing fool! It pays off! I have probably gotten about 1,000 books for my classroom in the last two years! Good Luck! Elisa

Kifer Third Grade Literacy Teacher Fox Meadow Elementary "Love of reading and writing is not taught, it is created. Love of reading and writing is not required, it is inspired. Love of reading and writing is not demanded, it is exemplified. Love of reading and writing, is not exacted, it is quickened. Love of reading and writing is not solicited, it is activated." -Russell Stauffer, 1980 _______________________________________________ Mosaic mailing list Mosaic@literacyworkshop.org To unsubscribe or modify your membership please go to http://literacyworkshop.org/mailman/options/mosaic_literacyworkshop.org.
