I don't use the reader's workshop classroom as much as I would like, but many times when my students are reading independently for an extended period of time, I do have a task for them to work on, but not always. The key seems to be the comprehension level, and I am struggling myself on how to check that and improve it. Would you please forward to me the other answers you receive? Thanks so much!
