It's a great possibility for people who are banned at MSX.org. :-)
Are there so much people banned at msx.org ???? O_o
No, but once you are you are unable to participate in any of the discussions, so it is a pretty serious thing considering msx.orgâs current near-monopoly on MSX community discussion. If online discussions mainly takes place overthere (which is basically already the case), it shuts you out from a big part of the MSX community. Pretty harsh. I do not think we want to add to such a âmonopolyâ by shutting down the MSX Mailinglist.
That is also why I think banning certain persons (in particular, I am talking about GuyveR800 from TNI here) is a Very Bad Idea. In the end, GuyveR800 was banned because of a (strong) disagreement with the msx.org staff, and as an end result can thus not participate in that part of the MSX community anymore. It still strikes me that whenever an old discussion turns up again, I see many valueable and contributing posts by GuyveR800, and the fact that msx.org has silenced that voice feels very sour to me each time. To me, such activities reduce the value of msx.org and make me all the more happy that alternate channels such as the MSX Mailinglist and IRC still exist.
