Is this practice any different in Europe? It's common in the US to have 
3 to 5 homes on a single transformer. Something users of powerline 
technologies should always be aware of.

In the summer months, I've killed the batteries on a few UPS thanks to 
an unknown neighbor on the same transformer who has a beefy AC that gets 
turned on about the same time every morning on hot days.
