I have the same kind of problem trying to use netmeeting to hear/see my 
sister who is in another country. When I go into options the receive button 
is grayed out and I can not cehck it... She can see and hear me, but i can 
not see or hear her (and we use the same web cam...), I have been trying to 
fix this problem for more than a week and nobody can seem to help me.....

Thanks for your reply, Eric. We had both already checked all our settings
before posting to this Newsgroup and they were as you say they should be.
However, wrt the Video  On/Off, Receive is grayed out and when I click on
Send it simply refuses to respond and the button remains "Start Video" and
will not change to "Stop Video." What should I check next?

(Seems to me that when you follow all the instructions and set a program up
according to them, correctly, then if it doesn't work (for so many people)
there must be something wrong with the program (including how it relates to
the operating system - Windows) or something wrong with or incomplete about
the instructions. I expect programs for the average user to be user
friendly and not be a pain in the butt. They should be self evident as to
their basic operation. That is what I meant by "something wrong with it.")
