Being an American living in Australia, and soon to be an Australian as well as an American, I've come to learn in the past 20 some odd years that Americans generally don't have a clue as to what life is like outside of America, and when "Joe Sixpack" and his wife are outside of familiar territory - i.e., American Soil, they are generally "whinging and whining" about living standards, economies and generally everything else that ISN'T America - hence I redirect to > /dev/null.
