Maybe you have not read the documentation for k3b. I used to think the same thing, but after reading an article in Linux Mag I found It DOES rip dvd's. It has a nice addon package that is supposed to rip/encode the disk. The problem I have is that it will not read the dvd. I can read it via command line, or konquer. I can play it with Ogle, I can copy paste the ENTIRE DVD to the hard drive. But when I try and use the ripping program, it will not read the dvd.
