[newbie] network card

I just installed 9.0 on my winxp.  I'm having trouble connecting to the internet.  Network card is recognized when it boots, but when I try to connect in mandrake console, it says "no ethernet adapter detected." Mother board is asus A7S266-VM/U2 Ethernet card is sis900 Does 9.0 support this hardware? Do I need to upgrade to 9.2? Any help is greatful.   Dooggie
