Because that's happened before. A week after I got this box the hard drive broke down. On tech support for two hours until they could be convinced that formatting with the restore discs isn't gonna help, and that there was nothing you could do... Shame they didn't let me keep the old hard drive...I've always wanted to disect one of those... I have seen a few articles about linux on this model. Didn't say anything about locking up. And why would the 2.6.3 kernel affect rescue mode off the boot discs?
