Just out of curiosity along this thread, is there any point in trying to fiddle with a slave drive with Win98 on it to get it to dual-boot? I placed the drive off of my old computer onto the new (Linux-only) one to get the data off of it. However Linux has not been as nice as expected about compatability with Windoze-designed programs, so the option to dual-boot has become a possibility again. What I'm gathering from this thread is that this is a dead duck, however.
