When you have it in your box (I believe it's going to be an ATAPI thing) su to root from console and open with vim or pico or vi (text editors) /etc/lilo.conf write on the append line "devs=mount hdc=ide-scsi quiet" save it close the text editor after saving the changes and from console type /sbin/lilo. You're done. Reboot. When your box is up again from console type cdrecord -scanbus. You will see your recorde there recognized under Linux.
