With reference earlier to the Red News organisation skills in the Xmas party front.
Not being able to secure a beer in a brewery would be far more preferable considering
I have to take my life in my hands at Anfield of all bloody places for my firms
attempt at some festive cheer. And the day before the mickeys descend on OT too!

As Reid reckons:

"They're the best about but I'm sure we'll give them a game. We were poor at Old
Trafford this season, we didn't compete so we'll be up for it on Tuesday

Tottenham are the latest club to be linked with highly rated strike ace Neil Harris.
Manchester United and Coventry City also had spies at Oldham at the weekend to watch
Harris help The Lions to the top of the Second Division table.

"It's a big challenge because they're going up to Wearside with 45,000 screaming
Sunderland fans,"

"That should be good for them and I think they will enjoy it. It is a test of
character in a way and it's a test of their temperament.

"That's what we're looking at in this situation and I think they'll do well."

Let's hope the result doesn't induce any more heart attacks

As ITV execs are wetting themselves at the prospect of Wednesday's documentary on Posh
and Becks exceeding the viewing figures for Utd's Champons League games or Match of
the Day. Apparently they reckon it might get near the 15 million for 26/5/99. Two
words - so what???

According to Ready to go:

Quinn & Phillips are pencilled in to start along with Sorensen, Kilbane, Craddock,
Thome, Arca, Williams & Rae, though one of the central defenders may be rested to the
bench to give Varga a run out.

Paul Thirwell may come into contention along with John Oster as Don Hutchison is
epxected to be rested due to a niggling injury he is carrying as is Chris Makin.

There will no place on the bench for McCann or Schwarz as Reidy will not risk these
players still not a full fitness. Dichio & Reddy will be on the bench along with
Peteers.

As capt Phil Nev says:

"Lads that are on the fringes of Man United could walk into almost any other
Premiership club, so it shows the quality of the managers first eleven and the quality
of the players below,"

Expect to see some or all of the following in tomorrows line up:
Chadwick, O'Shea, Healy, Stewart, Danny Webber and Mark Lynch

[22] Ted - One love

"You never get bored with it. Never get bored with winning at all, especially in
London with all these Arsenal supporters and Chelsea and West Ham.

"I was estatic last year when we won it by 18 points and I'll be estatic this year if
we win it by 24 points."

"Even if my lad wasn't playing for them and he went abroad or whatever, my first love
would be Man United.

"I just want to win - I want to win everything, I just love it," he added. "Eight
points clear at the moment - I wish it was 18, even now!"

Easy Ted, easy, don't want to upset Arsene Wenger do we?
oh we do, ok

absolutely love him."

"With Manchester United there are no superstars, no matter what people say,"

"No matter what they've got and no matter what they do, they are all as one, that's
the difference.

"And that is what is special about the club, the team, and the manager.

"I've got the utmost respect for him, for what he has done for my lad, and for what
he's done for my family."

The feeling is mutual, as there can be no doubt that his dad has helped Becks keep on
track when many would have cracked

"I watch a lot of football on TV and I look at games analyse them. You watch when a
player from any other team scores - just watch how many players go up to him.

"And then you watch when Man United score - every player goes round. They are a great
bunch of lads.

"That's the difference between Man United and any other team.

As Gary Nev mentioned at his IMUSA meeting, he feels it's important to congratulate
the scorer (unless it's the scousers in a cup tie eh Gary!)
