I wish it was because of fear of lawsuits. The store mgr kept one guy on because she thought he was poor because all he ate for lunch every day was a half dozen boiled eggs. He wasn't any poorer than anyone else, that was just some stupid diet he had found on the internet. Since I don't drink tho, I probably would have fired someone hungover.
