You might want , just to make sure, to open the headlight and
disconnect the bulb... See if the lights start working then, well the
headlight bulb didn't appreciate the extra voltage and made it's own
internal cooking...

Also make sure none of the connectors are melted  inside ... Two
checks one location... I would also if you some handy replace all
fuses just to see if it changes anything...

Is your taillight working ? Breaklight ?
