I did something like on a goldwing I had, but I used Yamaha carb cleaner,
which lots of people talk wonders about in the GW forums. This is a product
used by a community that _do not_ want to remove their carbs. I was one of
them. I really worked out great, and I only let it sit for about 2 hrs.
Allen do you still have that bottle anywhere? I can't remember where I got
it.
