The only time I worked at a place that used a local company (white boxes) was 
one of the most frustrating times I had supporting hardware, due to the fact 
that you hardly ever got the same thing 2 orders in a row.

No standardization. Even if you got one with the same specs, it ultimately did 
not have the same components inside.

For small shops, this may not be a big enough issue to overrule the cost 
savings.
