I don't think this is really fair, Nortons is a good product which is
fighting against
viruses which by definition 'hack' a system, to do this it has to hook the
system
in some unorthodox ways (wouldn't be much use if it was a well behaved
program)

The only problems I've come across is where people have all the Norton AV
"realtime" features
turned on (ie it scans every file opened etc ) and then wonder why their
system slows, esp
if they have programs which do a lot of file opens

But this can be disabled or tuned, My 2c worth
