Bear in mind, that's not actually the Emperor's Choice Web Page. Just
a fan site.  The official site is http://www.arduin.com/ , but hasn't
been updated since EC got bought by Cybergames.  And apparently the
d20 section on it has been missing since Cybergames bought them out.

I can't check Cybergames.com, since it crashes all my browsers. . But
it might have more info (but I doubt it, they apparently aren't
updating much either).

At any rate, even if the rumor is true, it apparently only concerns
the D20 Trademark license. If the d20 system is still open, people
could make games for it, they just couldn't use the D20 logo or name.
Existing products could just have stickers put over the logo. Not
necessarily the end of the world.
