On 26 Jan 01, Faustus scribbled a note about RE: [ogf-d20-l] Classless d20 ideas:

Another adaption to work in would be the purchase of Feats using
skill points. The Feats could and would have to to have the
prerequisites, and I figure the skill point costs would range about
10-20 points per feat (depending upon the prerequisites).

Or break the weapons down into specific groups (short stabbing,
long slashing, two-handed, thrown blades, etc..) with ranks in a
given group giving the attack bonus to all weapons in that group.
I can provide a complete list is anybody wants...

One quick and dirty method (which most likely needs a bit of
refining) would be to require magic users to gain feats to be able to
access certain levels of spells. A requirement for these feats would
be to have a certain number of ranks in a given skill (Spellcraft?)
and/or having acquired a certain amount of experience (or
equivalent skill points).

Please send them to me when you have them completed...
I have been thinking about using the Class Creation Engine
(somebody posted a link to it the other day) as a starting point for
a class-less system. (I was thinking of sticking with the levels for
now). Each player would design his character from scratch, using a
modified CCE system, thus every character would be unique.
