Could "usb_crypto_token" be a subclass of "smart_card_reader" or something similar? If you consider a "smart_card_reader" as anything accessible using PC/SC (or OpenCT) then a "usb_crypto_token" is just a special case. One day we may have "usb_crypto_token" accessible directly in TCP/IP over USB using JavaCard 3 inside.
