I think we need to scope this out, both in terms of process, technical and user requirements - if proposing a new project does that, then I think it's for the best. I don't think anyone can really morally stand up and say 'Use Blastwave' or 'Use X, Y and Z' without really sitting down, putting some hard thought into what we need, and figuring out what the current situation is. Political or personal problems aside, if this is going to fly, we're all going to have to make compromises for greater gain, Sun included. I'll be the first to stand up to say that I'm disappointed in how the opening in CCD has been handled, but given that I've gone through a similar thing in helping to get the JDS source and build environments opened, I'm not hugely surprised.
