Having recently made some non-trivial changes to the ON build, I'd like to inject a note of caution here. I agree that changing the build to increase parallelism does not require deep knowledge of Solaris internals. But it *does* require some ability to deal with large bodies of code. And it will likely require quite a bit of patience (e.g., untangling implicit build dependencies).
