Tee Hee...

We've learned one or two things from sun's original companion cd
distribution. But in some ways, me being the package control nazi has made
our standards HIGHER than sun's in some places.
For example, for quite a while, we were the only place to get pre-compiled
packaged 32bit AND 64-bit libs for some things. Neither sunfreeware nor
sun's companion cd offered them, even though they offered the 32bit
versions.

And beyond that, our "stable" packages get actual field testing
in unstable, before being released to stable.
I'm not aware of any public "beta" program for early access to companion cd
packages before they are burned/released.
