The arrival of a respected figure is one thing, but I think that (allowing for the odd glitch nothing so complicated is ever totally free of), Solaris has long (since 2.5 or 2.6, certainly) been among the most "stable" of environments. Now, having all the particular functionality that everyone might desire, that's another thing, but it certainly has many strong points (as well as a distance yet to go in for some uses, such as desktop on the full range of commodity hardware). So while your remark may have been kindly meant, I think that as stated, it's not altogether accurate.
