Maybe the policy is different in Europe? Or it's changing from day
to day? As recently as last week, our sales people are saying the
following, very similar verbiage to what others have posted from their
Oracle sales people:

Premier Support for Operating Systems (Solaris for SPARC, x86, and
OpenSolaris) will be provided on non-Sun boxes for Solaris 10 update 8
and prior. However, issues identified on non-Sun boxes will need to be
replicated on a Sun box. For Solaris 10 update 9 and later, Premier
Support for Operating Systems will be available on Oracle/Sun boxes only.

This refers to support contracts purchased from Oracle directly. As you
know, there are mixed messages floating around about whether or not one
will be able to buy Solaris/OpenSolaris support on non-Sun hardware
from OEM hardware vendors.

Regards,

Marion
