Ah, well, megapixels are by no means my top consideration. Everything
in this range seems to be in the 8-12 range, which is plenty. Heck,
for quality I am still very impressed with my 5mp A610. A decent
optical zoom is a definite consideration though.

Yeah, Sony is not even in the running. It has to be SD/SDHC based for
me to even be considering it.

I went ahead and ordered the DMC-TZ5K at $224.99 with an included 4GB
SD card and a case ($20 'value' for free) from NewEgg. I'm giving up a
15x zoom for 10x, and the macro feature is not nearly as tight as the
Fuji, but the arguments in favor of the better lens from Jared and
Cyril (and numerous webpages) were convincing. I also got a 8GB high
speed SDHC, which is the memory I will actually use. The 4GB will
probably become my thumbdrive as I have a USB/SD holder thingy I'm not
using. I didn't have a choice on the case/SD card, it was included in
the price and couldn't be un-included.

I know I'm not getting a top camera, or even a really good 'bridge'
camera at ~$200, but price _is_ a consideration, and realistically the
majority of my shooting is the kids, school events, and the occasional
screwing around. I'm not even at photo-hobbiest level.

Now to reread JJ's posts on HDR and download some software. What we
need is a good HDR tool that's free (cuz I'm cheap and poor).
