Consider this: removing an application is 
not necessarily the same as never having
installed it.

That is, the application in question may 
set up the situation that results in this
problem -- but once that situation has been
set up, it remains.  Removing the firing
pin may prevent you from firing any more
bullets, but it does not "un fire" any
that you may have already fired.
