Why? well because a couple of programs I want to run will only run in OS 9.2.2 or X and I don't want to put X on this machine. (Actually I have tried but I don't think I have a video card that is fast enough). I assume it will boot in 9.2.2 as I had it installed on a Power Tower Pro with the same upgrade card and it ran fine. Also the 8600 with a sonnet upgrade card is running just fine in 9.2.2. So again, Does anyone have any ideas why it would install on an 8600 and not on my 9600?
Did you do the 9.2 install on the 8600 yourself? I kinda doubt it, or you'd know about OS 9 Helper:
