Were you using OS 9 Helper?  You do have to upgrade to 9.1 before you can
apply the 9.2.1 and 9.2.2 updaters, using OS 9 Helper.  I don't think a
9.2.2 install CD will work on any G2 (aka PCI) PowerMac.  In my case, the
drive is from a 7500 that I used to own and was upgraded to 9.2.2 using the
aforementioned upgrade method.  Works like a charm in both the old 9600/200
that I had, and my current 9600/350.
