well, I have been thinking I would keep that machine in 9 just
because it would be nice to have a completely working box... it will
run under X (thanks to XPostFacto) and I am limited to 10.3.X 'cause
I do not have any CDs for 10.4 and I doubt it would boot from a
firewire device... I would probably leave it external so I can
connect it to a few other antiques, but it would be nice to have the
8500 back in one peice.. I upgraded the internal CD at some point in
the past, but I have to leave the drive cover off it so I canb
ctually REACH the eject button. are there any DVDs available for
these old school devices on SCSI?
is this the same lars I may know from SamClam'sDisco? (San Francisco)

I am wondering if I should take a CD-R out of a "Lacie" case, (which

OS 9 or OS X?
Not that wierd of a question. Just make sure that you ID jumper it
the same (probably 3) and can still boot from it, if you are
putting it in in place of the original...but I haven't actually
done it, so...
Possibly may need termination.
I haven't done this for my OS X CD-R drives because there was some
issue, like not being able to boot from them, or something
funny...so I just left external.
