I tried to re-insert an extra Ricoh (1998) SCSI CDRW into my 8500 ...
it had worked before, but now it does not for some reason (probably
age?).
It doesn't have it's front cover, and a big warning about the laser
light inside .. wonder if it reflects off a CD, it might be harmful to
sight?
Know where I might find a face plate for an old CDRW?
Mine has SCSI ID 3 ... it shows up under OS 9.1 System Profiler and
once recognized the name of the CD inserted, but doesn't read it / show
up on the desktop. Maybe it was Jaguar that it worked under before ...
maybe that's it ... don't have a driver in OS 9.1 for this drive?

Not that wierd of a question. Just make sure that you ID jumper it
the same (probably 3) and can still boot from it, if you are putting
it in in place of the original...but I haven't actually done it,
so...
Possibly may need termination.
I haven't done this for my OS X CD-R drives because there was some
issue, like not being able to boot from them, or something funny...so
I just left external.
