Netscape Messenger is NOT removing headers. NS has three choices for
viewing headers:
1. Normal shows Subject, From, Date and To (also Organization)
2. Brief shows From, Subject and To
3. All shows all headers
These choices are found in View -- Headers

The only way a header can be removed or edited is with a mail filtering
program like procmail. To learn more about e-mail headers see

footer -- One or more lines of text that appear at the bottom of every page
of a document. Once you specify what text should appear in the footer, the
application automatically inserts it.

sig (signature) -- few lines of information about the sender of an
electronic mail message or news posting. Most Unix mail and news software
will automagically append a signature from a file called .signature in the
user's home directory to outgoing mail and news.

To repeat, it's not a NS thing it is the standard method and definition of
a footer or signature.
