I just received a strange message. Does anybody know what it is? My Windows XP with SP2 had just restarted itself after completing the installation of one of its mystery updates or routines. I hate when that happens, because I feel that I'm no longer in control of the system. I suspect an automatic Windows update that comes in on Tuesdays, but I may be wrong.
When my computer loaded up, I got a message that states: RTHDCPL.EXE - Illegal System DLL Relocation. The system DLL user32.dll was relocated in memory. The application will not run properly. The relocation occurred because the DLL c:\Windows\system32.HHCTRL.OCX occupied an address range reserved for Windows system DLLs. The vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL. I restarted the computer, and that message came up again. Who is the vendor? How do I contact them? What do I do with the DLL after I get it? How do I make it load up into a safe place in memory?
