You have to be very careful, walking on eggs etc., with those Mac guys. They are very sensitive about any comments about their machines. I've been lucky and haven't needed to reboot my machine for anything other than an update, upgrade, or software install since I got the thing 1 1/2 years ago. I leave it on 24/7. Watch where you step. __________________________________________________________________ Sorry James, but I can tell you for sure it's not due to Keith using a Mac, but I would agree that there are a few possibilities. I have placed hundreds of ads, as pdfs, in Quark 4.11 using OS 9.2 and I have never had the Mac freeze up when placing the ad. It does on occasion take a little time to import, say 15-30 seconds for large pdfs. A better guess would be that the pdf itself has issues, especially since it is an intermittent problem. I make all the pdfs that I place and therefore control how they are made, if Keith places a pdf provided by someone else, who knows how well it was made(pdf writer?, word?, etc).
