Saving images and text using PDF-SnapShot has the added advantage that you can (as an 
option) save an image as a .jpg file (rather than PDF) which can be easily commented 
using even "Paint" that is built into Windows. . The full licensed version of 
PDF-SnapShot includes a JPG-2-PDF conversion tool so the jpg can be quickly converted 
back to PDF. Another advantage is that PDF-SnapShot is only $49
