Is the "scrunching" happening on screen or on printer? If the latter, make sure that you have the current version of the printer driver for your printers - old drivers have bugs that Acrobat tends to bring up since it really pushes printing.
We only create digital documents -- so for us it is on screen scrunching. But I didn't post this problem originally.
