My file began as a FrameMaker file which was later distilled and generated into a PDF. Occasionally, I need to send customers a Word version of the files. Using the Save As feature in Acrobat provides me only with the headings in the document but not any of the content (images, paragraphs of text, bulleted lists, etc.).
You could just save as RTF from FrameMaker skipping the PDF step all together. Saving as RTF was slow in earlier versions of FrameMaker but is reasonably fast in FrameMaker 7. You may still have to fiddle with the formatting a little but I've had reasonably good results.
