William Robb quoted Dan Scott :
>

and ROBB, responding to Dan sez:
> I have had formal training in portraiture and studio lighting, I
> also tend to read a lot and look at a lot of pictures.
and annsan (that's moi) responding further sez:
No formal training in photography at all - but I had been doing some
painting before
getting involved in photography.
My ex husband had a Mamiya-secor and was a fair albeit pedestrian
shooter. I said
"can I try that?" I was hooked after seeing my first slides. I started
shooting BW
but had others develop and print (Modernage) I read lots of photo
mags. I entered
competitions. It was almost ten years after I started shooting that I
was taught
to make Cibachrome prints by a friend. A couple of years after that I
learned printing
of BW from another friend (one darkroom session) and then finally
learned how to
develop BW film. You see, I 've always been a klutz so I feared I
couldn't thread the
film without ruining it.
There was lots of trial and error, needless to say, but it was exciting
and rewarding.
(and it still is - hope I never stop learning stuff - but I could never
tolerate classes.
