many of the Magnum photographers, even the relatively young ones,
still use Leica Ms. But many of them also use fully auto cameras.

However, if you read articles by or about them which discuss their
working techniques you'll find that many of them, although they have
whizzy cameras, still shoot much of their work using hand-held
incident meters, and with the cameras on manual, or aperture-priority.

On the other hand, of course, you can also read comments by greats
like Steve McCurry saying they shoot on auto all the time and trust
their cameras completely.

I think the common thread is that they all understand the fundamentals
and technicalities of photography, and are completely in control of
all the shooting decisions they make.
