While not suggesting that Pentax support comes anywhere near
that of Canon (who have dedicated repair staff on-site at most
major events, together with masses of free loaner equipment),
I have to say I was more than satisfied with the expedited
service I got for my MZ-S to (correct the film advance problem);
I was able to get the problem fixed, and the camera back in my
hands, before an upcoming trip to Europe.

The problem is that Pentax worldwide is all over the map on customer care.
If Pentax USA has managed to get their act together finally, thats great.
How will they be in 2006?
Like they were in 2003, when everyone who dealt with them was complaining?
I am still a bit sore about all 3 of my LX's rotting at PCI for somewhere closer to 6 months than the 4 months that I previously posted, and now I can't even seem to get a price out of them for equipment.
OTOH, PCI has, in the past, been very good to me, turning my broken 6x7 around in less than 4 days, shipping included, on one notable occassion.

Consistency of support is critical.
