Ask again in a year after the excitement over the DSLR has waned a bit.

A year+ and nothing's changed for me, the excitement turned into utility and that never wore off.

I hope to never lose the passion. I never got bored with 35mm, and doubt I'll tire of digital either.

One that I think I'll probably get rid of is my 17-28mm fisheye; I rarely used it on 35mm, and it seems strange putting a 17mm fisheye on a body that magnifies it by 1.5x. ;) Not-so-wide fisheye? Wierd.

It can be corrected to a rectilinear view quite easily using a PS plug-in so do consider that before you rid yourself of it.

I use PS6. Which plugin should I be looking for, and where? :) That's something I'd love to explore.

I will probably also get rid of my 80-320. I can't hand-hold it effectively past 200mm, when mounted on the *ist-DS. In its place I'll probably get myself a 135mm f/2, which on the *ist-DS will have an equivilancy of 202mm.

Did you mean the f2.8?

Yes, I meant 2.8.

I would also like to sell off my "kit" lens in favor of the 16-45mm f/4. Big price difference, but maybe the fisheye can help to offset it somewhat.

Maybe but just remember that if you do swing back to film at any stage the DA lens is pretty much useless on a full frame body.

I already have an SMC Pentax-FA 20-35mm f/4 AL, and that has me covered with respect to wide angle on a full-frame body. But 20mm becomes equivilant to 30mm on the *ist-DS, and I really miss having a little better wide-angle range. That's why the 16-45 sounds nice to me.
