I'm glad to hear that Shel is still around (or was a few years ago at least.) I recall him announcing that he would be gone for a while, and shortly after that I dropped for an extended period and never knew what came of him.
I often think of some his remarks - like (to paraphrase) "When people have a fine meal they don't ask the chef what brand of pots and pans he used, but when they see a great photo that's the first thing they ask the photographer..." Or something like that.
