Casey,
You just reminded me of an instance that occurs like this when there is
actually nothing outside of the workspace. Maybe this still occurs in
DXP/AD6.0? I have never nailed down the precise details of when it occurs or
doesn't occur but it generally occurs when rotating chunks of circuit board and
it does relate to hidden comments/designators.

I too hide comments and even some designators in board designs. When
rotating a chunk of selected circuitry you may even notice that as you rotate
it the selection box grows and may extend outside the work area. Then when you
try to fix it you can unhide the comments and designators only to find that
they are all within the viewable area and you can find nothing outside of the
workspace. Through trial and error I have determined that this never occurs if
I redo the rotation with previously hidden comments/designators simply
unhidden, then hide them again after the rotation.

To fix this I have found that you could unhide all the hidden
designators/comments, move your selection again through a rotation and place it
back down where you wanted it. Then re-hide all the designators/comments that
you wanted hidden. It seems that the items Altium thought were out of the
workspace, actually weren't, but for some reason the program can think that
they are under instances during rotations with hidden designators and comments.

I run into this a lot when we are doing our assembly/solderpaste screen
documentation because we quite often rotate/flip the boards building that
documentation.

I haven't been following this post but I'll quickly describe a trick
that usually works for me, I find that quite often the culprit is a
component comment gone astray, especially since I have mine always set
to hide, so when I have a problem like this where the board won't center
on the page I unhide all component comments using global edit, then make
sure that the comment is set to autoposition center and then hide all
comments again using global edit, if you then load the board in print
preview everything usually works fine now.

Regards,
Casey.
